Time-based volatility includes i) rising, ii) new appearing, etc. Event relevance includes i) transactions, ii) disputed events such as litigation/trials, iii) standards/FDA approvals, and iv) financial events such as M&A/investments. Index value spikes include i) spikes in No. of forward citations by domestic/international patents, ii) spikes in domestic/international patent families, etc.
How to recognize & deliver sensing information
Problems due to the nature of sensing
Sensing is essentially about accessing valuable but scarce/sparse/unpredictable information. In particular, events such as transactions/litigations/trials/standard-essential patents/FDA approvals/M&A/investments, etc. have extremely low predictability. And, the more valuable the information, the more likely it is to be scarce. Therefore, periodically searching for these low-prediction targets (encountering "search result 0") is not efficient for the time spent. In other words, periodically sensing with Search is not recommended unless there are special circumstances (I feel lucky, professional/professional/service sensing, etc.).
